Opening prayer

Opening prayer led by U Joseph Lal.

Introduction

Everyone introduced themselves to the meeting.

The topic

Anthony Aung introduced the meeting and announced the objectives for the meeting which are;

1.      To expand in youth programs in the community.

2.      To support in NCBAC’s youth programs.

3.      To gain more fellowship among Myanmar Catholic youth in the community

4.      To participated in the community under guideline of MCA (DC area)’s Executive committee.

Community structure

Joseph Thang briefly explained how the organization (MCA (DC area)) is formed. He explained that the community will have executive committee which including youth committee, information committee, treasure, auditor and so on. Youth committee is part of the organization administration. He also stated that the Executive committee is inventing new constitution to become solid organization so that everyone is welcome to participate in discussion.

Proposing

Anthony Aung continued proposed the idea of forming youth committee. He stated that currently MCA has only youth Coordinator. He mentioned that NCABC urge to every Myanmar Catholic state to create a youth committee. He also mentioned that John Sailon from NCBAC sent a message to this meeting that he believed that DC area will be one of the strongest youth committee and will be effectively participate with NCBAC in the future. Then Anthony requested a desire from youth those are attended to the meeting.

Open discussion

Every single one in the meeting discussed openly. Everyone in the meeting agreed to form temporary youth committee after the discussion. In the youth committee, seven members are including and are as follow;

2.      Mary SuiLian (Assistant Youth Coordinator)

3.      Peter Pau (Member)

4.      Elizabeth (Member)

5.      Van Ding (Member)

6.      Angela (Member)

Name

Everyone continued discuss the title for the committee. All agreed to name as “Myanmar Catholic Association Youth (DC area)” (MCAY (DC area).

October event

Mary suilian announced that Basilica of the National Shrine has invited Myanmar Catholic to participate in 20^th International Prayer and Fasting Campaign. Every Myanmar Catholic is invited in the community. If you have more information, please contact to Mary Suilian (240)883-8058.

Conclusion

Joseph Thang reported to the meeting that what discussed and decided.
